Job summary

The Temporary Substitute Truck Driver/Warehouse Specialist for Purchasing with Anchorage School District will load goods on trucks, deliver to schools, and handle warehouse tasks following a set schedule. Must hold a valid Alaska CDL B with air brake endorsement and forklift certification.

Position is temporary, with a 6:00 am to 2:30 pm schedule, Monday to Friday, and a wage of $26.96 per hour. Candidates should have at least two years in driving, delivery, and warehouse work, and be able to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or current enrollment in a GED program.
• Minimum of two years of experience in truck driving, delivery, and warehouse work.
• Valid Alaska CDL class B with air brake endorsement.
• Valid pallet jack and forklift certification for standup and sit-down types.
• Knowledge of traffic laws as they apply to trucks.
• Ability to load/unload using hand trucks, pallet jacks, and power lift gates.
• Able to learn routes and deliveries on assigned schedules.
• Ability to do manual labor and operate forklifts safely.

Responsibilities

• Load supplies, equipment, and furniture on trucks for delivery to units or schools.
• Perform warehouse duties including receiving, checking in freight, and loading for delivery.
• Picks up and delivers items on transfer requests between locations.
• Process truck transfer and delivery receipts.
• Assist in record keeping, shelving, labeling, sorting of warehouse supplies.
• Operate standup/sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and delivery trucks with power lift gates.
