Job summary

The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey in Trenton, NJ invites applications for a Temporary Social Worker - Clinician. The role focuses on emotional and behavioral therapy for children ages 3–18 and their families affected by trauma or loss.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or counseling, and New Jersey LSW; LCSW and LPC are preferred. The position is based in the CHSofNJ office with travel to homes and schools as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work, psychology or counseling.
• New Jersey LSW required; LCSW and LPC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide office and community-based emotional and behavioral therapy for children aged 3–18 and their families exposed to trauma or in services from the Department of Children and Families.
• Travel to family homes; services may be in schools or community settings or CHSofNJ office as needed.
• Document all services in Evolv electronic health record in a timely manner, complying with licensing requirements and CHSofNJ standards.
• Assist fiscal staff with billing documentation and resolution of issues.
• Complete initial and ongoing assessments, treatment plans, monthly summaries, and discharge assessments in Evolv.
• Attend family/team meetings and case conferences; document information in Evolv.
• Collaborate with other agencies (schools, DCPP, PerformCare, CMO, etc.) and provide testimony if subpoenaed.
• Provide information, advocacy and referrals to clients as needed.
