Job summary

Roane County Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant to support classroom teachers and facilitate a positive learning environment in Rockwood, Tennessee.

The role involves planning with teachers, assisting small groups, guiding student interaction, and monitoring student needs. Candidates should have a High School Diploma and, preferably, an Associates degree or ParaPro assessment. This position requires mobility around the school and involvement in daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Participates in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning.
• Conducts learning exercises with individuals or small groups of children.
• Guides children in working and playing harmoniously with other children.
• Alerts the teacher to the special needs of individual children.
• Provides escort and assistance to children as necessary.
• Must be able to walk students throughout the building as necessary.
• Helps maintain individual records for each child.
• Assist the teacher in maintaining neat work and study areas.
• Assist with the supervision of children during regular play periods.
• Collects and displays suitable material for educational displays.
• Assist students with personal care.
