Job summary

Roane County Schools in Kingston, TN seeks an Educational Assistant to support teachers in maintaining an engaging classroom and to create an environment that promotes effective learning.

You will assist with lesson and activity planning, guide small groups, monitor student behavior, maintain records, and help with displays and personal care as needed. This role requires light lifting and walking between classrooms.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associates degree or ParaPro Assessment (score 456+).

Responsibilities

• Participates in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning.
• Conducts learning exercises with individuals or small groups of children.
• Guides children in working and playing harmoniously with other children.
• Alerts the teacher to the special needs of individual children.
• Provides escort and assistance to children as necessary.
• Must be able to walk students throughout the building as necessary.
• Helps maintain individual records for each child.
• Assist the teacher in maintaining neat work and study areas.
• Assist with the supervision of children during regular play periods.
• Collects and displays suitable material for educational displays.
• Assist students with personal care.
• Other: Duties as assigned by administrators.
