Tucson Unified School District is hiring a part-time paraeducator to assist teachers in the classroom. This temporary assignment is for external applicants and ends at the end of the current 26/27 school year. Location: Drachman Montessori K-8 Magnet area.

FTE: .75 (approximately 6 hours per day). Work calendar: 9 months. Effective salary rates have been increased through a community override, with posted rates adjusted through June 2031.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• AZ Dept. of Education-approved Academic Assessment Test or an Associate’s degree or two years of post high school credits
• One year of experience working with youth
• English speaking, reading and writing

SUMMARY

Assists teachers in performing their classroom teaching responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Completion of an AZ Dept. of Education-approved Academic Assessment Test
  OR
  Associate’s (or higher) degree
  OR
  Two-years (60 Semester-Hour credits) of post high school general education studies
• One year of experience working with youth
• Speak, read and write in English

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE

• Copy of diploma, transcript or test results must be submitted at time of hire.
• FBI fingerprint background check.
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
