Job summary

The Museum of Modern Art in New York is seeking a temporary Stock Associate to help maintain the stockroom, assist in sales floor replenishment, and ensure efficient handling of both incoming receipts and outgoing deliveries. You will uphold MoMA standards and support a holistic visitor experience.

You will unload shipments, receive merchandise, fill orders, prep items for display, replenish fixtures, and keep the stockroom organized.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year of experience in retail sales or stock.
  • Committed to delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Fluency in foreign language a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Fill orders for in-store pickup or ship from store.
  • Prepare products for fixture readiness (ticket, shrink wrap etc.).
  • Replenish store fixtures.
  • Maintain an efficient and organized stockroom.
  • Assist in inventories.
  • Operate cash registers and address discrepancies.
  • Engage customers proactively.
  • Attend trainings and staff meetings.

Job description

The Museum of Modern Art is currently accepting applications for a temporary Stock Associate to help maintain the stockroom, assist in sales floor replenishment and ensure efficient handling of both incoming receipts and outgoing deliveries. You are expected to uphold the MoMA standards, policies and procedures as well as proactively connect to the Museum to support a holistic visitor experience.

Responsibilities
  • Assists in the unloading of all shipments and deliveries.
  • Receives all merchandise.
  • Fills orders for in store pick-up or ship from store
  • Prepares product to be fixture ready. (ticket, shrink wrap etc.)
  • Replenishes store fixtures.
  • Maintains an efficient and organized stockroom.
  • Assists in annual physical and mini inventories.
  • Perform local deliveries to the Museum or nearby areas.
  • Performs other duties as reasonably related to the above.
  • Proactively reaches out and engages customers on a regular basis
  • Opens, operates, and closes cash registers and is held accountable for any discrepancies noted by the manager.
  • Visits the Museum regularly.
  • Attends Product, Vendor and Customer Service Training.
  • Participates in advanced education opportunities as offered.
  • Attends staff meetings.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year of experience in retail sales or stock.
  • Committed to delivering a high level of customer service.
  • Strong verbal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Able to perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Interest in design, books, art, and architecture is desirable.
  • Fluency in foreign language a plus.
  • Computer: POS, Email, Inventory Management Systems, CRM
Salary:

The salary for this position is $19.50 per hour.
