Job summary

Henrico County Public Schools seeks an Instructional Assistant to support classroom instruction at Gayton Elementary School. You will work under the guidance of the classroom teacher, helping with academic tasks, behavior management, and student supervision throughout the day.

Responsibilities include assisting with grading, creating instructional materials, and supporting students with mobility and health-related needs as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Sixty semester hours of college credit or passing ParaPro Assessment.
• Paraprofessional Autism Certification required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with academic subjects and documents progress.
• Assists teachers with classroom duties, grading, and tests.
• Supports classroom management and behavior modification.
• Assists with field trips and community-based instruction.
• May assist with toileting and personal hygiene; handles positioning equipment.
• Assists students with mobility needs and bus loading/unloading.
• May assist with physical therapy tasks and fine motor skills.
• Collects data on student performance and progress.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Passing scores on the ParaPro Assessment
