Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Sixty semester hours of college credit or passing scores on the ParaPro Assessment preferred.
• Paraprofessional Autism Certification within 60 days of hire; HCPS provides training.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with academic subjects and documents progress.
• Assists teachers with classroom duties, including correcting work and recording grades.
• Assists with classroom management and behavior modification.
• Supports field trips, community-based instruction, and other activities.
• May assist with toileting, hygiene, seizures, and handling positioning equipment.
• Assists students with mobility needs, including loading/unloading the bus and operating adaptive equipment.
• Assists with physical therapy tasks, range of motion, and social skills support.
• Collects data on student performance and progress.
• Reports student concerns to the teacher and assists with resolutions.
• Regular attendance is required.

Education
