Job summary

UnCommon Farms LLC is seeking a Temporary Senior Accountant in Illinois to provide full-cycle accounting services for our farm-focused clients. You will manage GL, AP/AR, payroll, and financial statements in QuickBooks Online and related software, ensuring GAAP compliance and accuracy across multiple entities.

We expect 7–10 years of accounting experience, especially in agriculture and intercompany payroll, with proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; master's degree preferred.
7-10 years of accounting experience; agriculture, intercompany, and payroll experience preferred.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel; experience with AgManager, AgVero, or other ERP software is a plus.
CPA license desired and QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification a plus.
Strong GAAP knowledge and exceptional accuracy across multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Deliver full-cycle accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial statements per GAAP.
Review client-entered transactions weekly, correct coding errors, and coach client staff.
Reconcile cash, loans, intercompany, and balance sheet accounts, and reconcile to tax returns.
Process payroll and payroll tax payments, keeping records accurate and ready for year-end filings.
Prepare budgets and budget-to-actual comparisons, and lead quarterly financial review calls for insights.
