Job summary

Idaho Transportation Department is seeking a Transportation Technician to work up to 5 months in Fairfield, Idaho, performing snow removal operations for the winter season. Training will be provided to operate snowplow equipment; a Class B CDL is required and work includes irregular shifts in all weather conditions.

The position is part-time and not benefit eligible, with hourly rates based on winter-season experience; 0 to 2 winters = $21.05, rising to 6+ winters = $25.83 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience operating vehicles with manual transmissions.
• CDL Class A or B is required.

Responsibilities

• Seasonal snow removal equipment operator position.
• Operate snowplow equipment after training.
• Work irregular shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Work in all weather conditions and hazardous environments.
• Physically demanding tasks such as lifting and clearing brush.
