Job summary

North Slope Borough School District is seeking a school bus driver to transport students and authorized personnel to and from schools in Alaska. The role requires maintaining student discipline, following routes and schedules, and ensuring bus safety through pre-trip inspections and compliance with regulations.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, two years of related experience or training, and a valid Alaska CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of related experience and/or training.
• Valid Alaska Commercial Driver's License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement.
• Fingerprints must clear Public Safety and FBI checks.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and operate school buses safely.

Responsibilities

• Obey all traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintain discipline when students are on the bus and report problems to the proper authority.
• Keep the assigned bus clean and conduct pre-trip inspections.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules.
• Complete and attend all training sessions as required.
• Adhere to District rules and regulations.
