Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
• Fingerprints must clear Public Safety and FBI checks.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of related experience and/or training.
• Inupiaq speaking and cultural experience preferred.
• English communication and reading/writing skills required.
• CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement required.
• First Aid certification preferred.
• Lift 70 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus to transport pupils and authorized personnel to and from schools.
• Maintain discipline on the bus and report problems to the proper authority.
• Keep the bus clean and follow assigned routes and schedules.
• Check the bus before operation for mechanical defects and notify if needed.
• Transport and discharge students at authorized stops.
• Attend all required training sessions and adhere to district rules.
