A Skilled Nursing Home is seeking a confident RN Infection Preventionist to own the facility's Infection Prevention program. This 8-12 week temporary assignment runs about 32 hours per week at $70/hour, with an immediate impact expectation.

The ideal candidate has Connecticut RN licensure in good standing and prior infection prevention experience in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting. The ability to work independently is essential.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN license in good standing.
• Experience in infection prevention in skilled nursing or healthcare settings.
• Able to start quickly with minimal orientation.

Responsibilities

• Own the Infection Prevention and Control program for the facility.
• Conduct ongoing infection surveillance and monitor trends among residents and staff.
• Track, investigate, and report infections and potential outbreaks.
• Monitor infection prevention practices across the facility.
• Identify concerns and collaborate with nursing leadership to address them.
• Ensure infection prevention policies are followed consistently.
• Maintain required infection control documentation and reports.
• Track antibiotic and IV usage in residents.
• Consult on wound care and track wounds/skin issues.
• Assist with survey readiness related to Infection Prevention.
• Provide direct nursing care as needed by the Nursing Services Department.

Temporary RN Infection Preventionist

We are seeking a confident, experienced RN Infection Preventionist who can jump right in and take ownership of the facility's Infection Prevention program.

This is an 8-12 week Temporary assignment, working approximately 32 hours per week at $70/hour.

We are looking for someone who is experienced in Infection Prevention and can step into the role with minimal orientation and begin making an immediate impact. The ability to work independently, prioritize, identify concerns, and confidently manage the Infection Prevention program is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the facility's Infection Prevention and Control program

• Conduct ongoing infection surveillance and monitor trends among residents and staff

• Track, investigate, and oversee reporting of infections and potential outbreaks

• Monitor infection prevention practices throughout the facility

• Identify areas of concern and work collaboratively with nursing and facility leadership to address them

• Ensure infection prevention policies and procedures are followed consistently

• Maintain required infection control documentation and reports

• Track antibiotic and IV usage within the resident population

• Consult regarding wound care and track wounds and skin issues

• Assist with survey readiness related to Infection Prevention

• Provide direct nursing care as needed by the Nursing Services Department

What We're Looking For:

• Current Connecticut RN license in good standing

• Previous Infection Prevention experience in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting

• Confident Infection Preventionist who can hit the ground running

• Strong knowledge of infection prevention practices, OSHA requirements, and long-term care regulations

• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and follow through

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Previous long-term care experience preferred

• Wound Care Certification preferred

Position Details:

Temporary Rate: $70/hour
Hours: 32 hours/week
Contract: 8-12 weeks
