Temporary Professional Writing Consultant
Minimum: M.A. in Writing Studies, Composition Studies, English, Technical Writing, or a related field
Preferred: The candidate should have at least two years of experience working as a writing tutor in a university writing center and/or at least one year of experience teaching first-year composition at a university.

The Professional Writing Consultant will provide writing assistance to graduate and undergraduate students. The Professor Writing Consultant’s primary responsibility will be to assist graduate students and undergraduate students who are producing complex research projects and preparing for standardized test such as the Praxis Core Writing exam.
The University Writing Center is a unit within the University Student Success Office ( USSO ). Two primary goals of the USSO include increasing first-year retention and four-year graduation rates. The University Writing Center plays an essential role in this initiative.
The work hours for this position are flexible. The candidate could work between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., Monday-Friday and on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
