Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Teacher for the Southwest Side location, under principal supervision. You will be responsible for instruction, progress, and discipline of all pupils in assigned classes, and perform related duties as required.

The Minimum Qualifications include completion of student teaching and possession of an Illinois teaching certificate (PEL/ELS). Strong knowledge of teaching methods, classroom management, and effective communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching and coursework for teaching certification.
• Illinois State Board of Education license or eligibility with PEL or ELS.
• Knowledge of state certification requirements and teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide instruction, prepare lesson plans, assess pupil progress.
• Maintain attendance records, seating charts, and classroom discipline per policies.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about progress and concerns.
