Job summary

Matrix Providers is hiring a Physical Therapist for a temporary backfill at the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. The role covers outpatient rehabilitation for active duty, dependents, and retirees, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a 40-hour workweek, aiming to maintain continuity of care during temporary coverage periods.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in physical therapy or Baccalaureate degree in physical therapy for graduates prior to January 1, 2002, with CAPTE approval.
• Graduate from a college or university approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
• Minimum of 12 months of experience within the past 15 months as a Physical Therapist.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Healthcare Provider Course.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapist.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive physical therapy services for patients across Orthopedics, Primary Care, General Medicine, Surgery, and Rheumatology.
• Conduct patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans based on findings and rehab goals.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions including exercises, manual therapy, soft tissue mobilization, traction, and functional training.
• Administer physical therapy modalities and equipment such as ultrasound, whirlpool, moist heat, and other therapeutic agents.
• Assess patient progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, home exercise programs, mobility techniques, and assistive device use.
• Evaluate and fit prosthetic and orthotic devices to improve patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Provide guidance to physical therapy assistants, technicians, aides, and students.
• Participate in rehabilitation meetings and quality initiatives.
