Job summary
Fox TV Stations is seeking an experienced Relief Technician on a temporary, per diem basis to support live control room and master control operations. You will operate production automation systems and control room equipment to deliver error-free live newscasts, sports events, and local productions.
The role requires staying calm under pressure, coordinating with News Directors and Producers, and maintaining high-quality broadcasts while adapting to shifting coverage needs and schedules.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent hands-on broadcast experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred.
- Available to work on a temporary, per diem basis to assist with short-term coverage, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Operate Sony ELC production automation and Evertz Mediator to support live broadcasts.
- Execute daily live newscasts with rapid, directional changes alongside News Directors and Producers.
- Produce live and taped local sports and public affairs content.
- Manage automated transmission to integrate ads with programming, coordinating with Sales, Traffic, and Hub personnel.
- Monitor on-air signals and equipment to ensure high-quality broadcast execution.
- Perform additional operational duties as assigned by leadership.
