Job summary

Grand Central Bakery’s Commissary Pastry Baker 1 is a temporary full-time role producing frozen pastries for cafes and wholesale customers. You will work with a production team on mechanized equipment, maintaining high quality and efficiency while adhering to safety standards. This position reports to the Pastry Manager and Pastry Leads.

Compensation is $22.39/hour. Schedule includes weekends; overtime eligible. End date is November 22, 2026.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Working knowledge of and ability to speak and understand basic English required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• HS diploma/GED preferred.
• Prior professional pastry experience or completion of a pastry program preferred.
• Preferred experience with mechanized production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Produce large quantities of pastries using mechanized equipment.
• Maintain quality and pace to meet production goals.
• Communicate equipment issues and supply concerns to Pastry Leads.
• Follow all food safety requirements and GMP/HAACP standards.
• Assist in seasonal pastry production and rotating specials.
• Use training documents and checklists to ensure consistent results.
