Job summary

Oaknoll Retirement Residence in Iowa City, IA, is seeking a part-time Music Therapist to join our team on a temporary basis. The role entails planning and implementing both group and one-on-one music therapy sessions tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, including teaching guitar, piano, or other instruments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy is required.
• Certified Music Therapist status approved by the American Music Therapy Association is required.
• Demonstrate fundamental computer literacy.
• Experience with aging populations and training in care of dementia or age-related diseases is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement group and one-on-one music therapy sessions based on residents' interests and abilities.

Oaknoll is seeking a part-time Music Therapist to join our team on a temporary basis. The position is for 8 hours a week for approximately 12 weeks. Responsibilities for this position include planning and implementing both group and one-on-one music therapy sessions according to residents' interests, cognitive and physical abilities, and teaching guitar, piano, or other instruments through personalized music therapy sessions.
