NewsNation in Chicago is seeking a digital reporter/producer for a full-time temporary role in our newsroom. Hours are 4:30 am to 12:30 pm, with flexibility as network needs evolve. This 3-month assignment offers a hands-on opportunity in fast-paced national news.

You will create stories, clip videos, write headlines and social posts, edit wire and local content for a national audience, and optimize distribution with SEO best practices across platforms.

Qualifikationen

• 2+ years working in news as a digital reporter or producer.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, advertising or marketing or equivalent experience.
• Experience with video production and social media platforms.

This full-time temporary position will be for approximately 3 months, and will be based in our Chicago newsroom. Hours will generally be 4:30 am to 12:30 pm, but may change as needed. Flexibility to adjust schedule and assignments as network's needs evolve.

Position Description

• Create stories that maintain our high standards of journalism and differentiate our brand from our competitors
• Create or clip videos that help viewers and readers understand what matters in news stories
• Craft compelling headlines, push alerts and social posts while delivering stories that make a difference
• Edit wire and local network-affiliated content for a national audience to ensure standards for journalistic integrity and production quality are met
• Showcase broadcast segments for publishing across all digital platforms and social media channels
• Utilize SEO best practices

Qualifications

• 2+ years working in news as a digital reporter or producer.
• Strong news judgement and ability to determine when local stories have national appeal
• Experience working with video and social media
• Excellent communicator, both oral and written
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, advertising or marketing or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

Compensation Range

Compensation Range: $30.00/hourly
