Job summary

POLITICO is seeking an experienced editor to edit and publish breaking news, enterprise stories and newsletters. You will assign stories and help shape coverage during shifts, and work closely with reporters to strengthen reporting, framing and structure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional journalism experience including substantial editing.
• Excellent editing, headline writing and story framing skills.
• Strong news judgment and fast-moving news experience.
• Experience assigning stories and collaborating with reporters.
• Ability to juggle priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience with digital publishing platforms and CMS.
• Familiarity with national politics or Washington coverage preferred.
