Job summary

Kirtland Local School District will place a high school mathematics teacher at Kirtland Middle School for a short-term assignment from August 12, 2026 to September 6, 2026. The role requires providing individualized instruction, including possible remote learning, and maintaining a positive classroom environment.

Must hold an Ohio Math license/certificate and be able to clear BCII and FBI background checks.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio Middle Childhood, Math License or Certificate.
• Evidence of a clear record as determined by BCII and FBI.
• Experience working with children in a school setting.
• Ability to maintain a well-managed, positive learning environment.
• Flexible and comfortable in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures and objectives.
• Facilitate student progress in the functional curriculum.
• Provide effective individualized instruction to students in assigned classroom and with possible remote learning online.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Provide necessary support, communication, direction and feedback to assigned paraprofessional staff.
• Maintain regular, positive communication with building staff.
• Regular and punctual attendance is required.
• Other duties as assigned by school administration.
