Job summary

Massachusetts Maritime Academy is seeking three marine engineers to train students in hands‑on laboratory and lecture components of cadet engineering during Sea Term 2027. You will deliver professional instruction to cadets and may be assigned additional duties as necessary.

Positions are non‑benefitted, temporary/contract roles for the duration of the Sea Term (Jan 04 – Feb 25, 2027). Prior engine training and USCG/STCW credentials are preferred, with MMA Human Resources assisting eligible

Qualifications

• Second Assistant Engineer’s Unlimited U.S.C.G. credential for Steam, Motor, or both.
• Current STCW certifications.
• Must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Train cadets in hands-on laboratory and lecture components of cadet engineering.
• Deliver professional instruction to cadets and participate in related duties as assigned.
