Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the performance of laundering or linen handling tasks.
  • Wash and dry clothes as described by procedures.
  • Check apparel, linens, or laundered articles to ensure acceptable standards of quality.
  • Perform routine checks on equipment.
  • Keep inventory or production records.
  • Manage all count sheets.
  • Operate automated sewing equipment to make necessary repairs of youth clothing.
  • Assist with transporting clothes to and from living units to laundry room when needed.
  • Must be able to drive state vehicle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to further the agency's mission.
Minimum And Additional Requirements

State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma or GED. Must complete agency's defensive driving course with a passing grade and pass a drug test.

Additional Requirements: Knowledge of safety practices, laundering tasks, institutional linen handling procedures, and automated sewing operations. Skill in operating and caring for automated sewing equipment. Ability to keep accurate records and communicate effectively.

Essential Position: Must be able to work any shift, stay over if necessary, work in lock quarters, lift over 50 lbs., be mobile, and work around youth without restrictions. This position involves contact with youth and requires training provided by the agency.
