Job summary

Lyons Elementary School in Lyons, IL is seeking a temporary K–2 Special Education teacher to provide individualized support to students with diverse needs. The 35-hour workweek runs Aug 11, 2026 through Sep 23, 2026, with a possible extension.

The selected teacher will support about four students in a primarily self-contained classroom, with paraprofessional support and some general education involvement. Responsibilities include implementing IEP goals, monitoring progress, and collaborating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Illinois PEL license.
• LBS1 endorsement desired.
• Experience with K–2 students preferred.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
