Job summary

ASRC Federal Communications is seeking an Environmental Technician to support on-site environmental regulatory compliance on Shemya Island, Alaska, for a 90-day temporary assignment. The role focuses on waste management, sampling, and regulatory reporting, working with the Environmental Lead and Site Manager to ensure program success.

Housing is provided in a dormitory, meals are furnished, and government aircraft transport to Earackson Air Station is provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ environmental compliance experience or equivalent DoD-related work.
• DoD/air force contract familiarity preferred and regulatory knowledge.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills to support environmental programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage waste streams, MAP/SAPs, and waste collection centers.
• Oversee hazardous waste storage, characterization, packaging, and shipping.
• Conduct environmental sampling (water, soil, asbestos, lead) and prepare shipments.
• Maintain waste logs and inventory for supplies; assist spill response.
• Perform facility inspections and ensure regulatory compliance.
