Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent plus three (3) years of experience in a warehouse/inventory control related field. Education may substitute for experience up to two (2) years.
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License, if required for the position.
  • Legally mandated training must be completed within 1 year of employment, if applicable.

This is a temporary position responsible for assisting service center and department personnel with parts provision, research, and communication. Duties include ordering, receiving inventory, performing cycle counts, managing invoices, and handling returns.

This is an essential position; employees are expected to work during City closures or emergencies, including bad weather and shutdowns.

Driving Requirements

A valid Texas Class C Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one by the hire date is required. External hires must meet City Driver Record Evaluation standards.

Benefits and Work Schedule

Working with the City offers benefits such as medical, paid leave, retirement, and training. Pay range: $22.22 – $24.77. Work hours are Monday-Friday, with shifts at 5:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Hours and location may change based on work demands.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in automotive shop or warehouse environments.
  • Experience with large fleet management and automotive parts research.
  • Knowledge of inventory systems like Asset Management Software.
  • Experience with vehicle components and systems.
Key Duties
  • Receive, verify, and document inventory items.
  • Manage shipping, receiving, and inventory levels.
  • Prepare purchase requests and process invoices.
  • Operate equipment such as pallet lifts or forklifts.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures.
  • Skills in communication, record keeping, and data analysis.
  • Ability to use computers and equipment safely.
  • Ability to work accurately and establish good working relationships.
