Job summary

Redwire is seeking a Temporary Instructional Designer for 6 months to 1 year in the Jacksonville, FL area. The role focuses on translating highly regulated content into engaging, learner-centered training that meets contractual and security requirements.

You will collaborate with SMEs, HR, compliance, and leadership to deliver end-to-end learning solutions, including eLearning modules and instructor-led materials, while adhering to review processes and branding standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, HR, Organizational Development, Psychology or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of corporate instructional design experience.
  • Experience supporting training for government contractors, federal agencies, or highly regulated industries.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct needs analysis and consult with stakeholders to define learning objectives and compliance-driven success metrics.
  • Design end-to-end learning experiences across eLearning and instructor-led formats.
  • Create storyboards and scripts for eLearning and video-based training.
  • Develop facilitator guides, participant workbooks, and job aids.
  • Translate regulatory requirements into clear, learner-friendly content.
  • Partner with SMEs and compliance teams to ensure audit readiness.
  • Manage multiple timelines and deliverables with formal review workflows.

We are seeking an experienced Temporary Instructional Designer for 6 months to 1 year to support the design and development of high-quality learning solutions in a regulated, government-contracting environment. This role will partner closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), HR, compliance, and business leaders to translate complex and highly regulated content into engaging, learner-centered training programs that meet contractual, security, and compliance requirements. Ideally, this person will be located in the Jacksonville, FL area.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting training for government contractors and/or federal programs, is comfortable working within strict documentation and review processes, and can balance instructional quality with regulatory constraints.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct needs analysis and consult with stakeholders to define learning objectives and compliance-driven success metrics
  • Design end-to-end learning
  • Creates solutions using adult learning principles and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM)
  • eLearning modules
  • Instructor-led and virtual training materials
  • Facilitator guides and participant workbooks
  • Job aids, microlearning, and performance support tools
  • Translate regulatory, policy, and contractual requirements into clear, learner-friendly training content
  • Partner with SMEs and compliance teams to ensure accuracy and audit readiness
  • Create storyboards and scripts for eLearning and video-based training
  • Ensure content aligns with corporate branding, accessibility standards, and security requirements
  • Support pilot sessions, collect feedback, and revise materials as needed
  • Manage multiple timelines and deliverables while supporting formal review and approval workflows
Ideal Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, HR, Organizational Development, Psychology or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of corporate instructional design experience
  • Experience working with and/or supporting training for government contractors, federal agencies, or highly regulated industries
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and performance-based design
  • Proficiency with eLearning and content development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline/Rise, Adobe, Camtasia, Canva etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with firm deadlines and formal approval processes
Desired Skills
  • Familiarity with GCC High or secure collaboration environments
  • Experience developing compliance, ethics, cybersecurity, or regulatory training
  • Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements
  • Experience with LMS administration or reporting in regulated settings
  • Experience supporting audits, contract deliverables, or training documentation requirements
