Job summary

Lubbock County Juvenile Justice Center is seeking a Food Preparer to handle daily meal preparation in accordance with approved menus and to maintain sanitary kitchen conditions. The role requires following mealtimes, recording meals, and ensuring safety standards are met in a juvenile facility environment.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year in an institutional kitchen or related schooling, be able to read and write English, and comply with all health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Meet NCIC/TCIC employment guidelines.
• Be of good moral character; able to read and write English.
• Have at least 1 year of institutional kitchen experience or 1 year of related schooling.
• Texas Food Handler Certification requested but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily menu plans and seek supervisory approval for changes.
• Serve all meals at the assigned mealtimes.
• Maintain daily records of meals served and related reports.
• Use appropriate equipment to prepare and serve nutritious meals.
• Prepare nutritious snacks for residents each evening.
