Job Description:

We are hiring summer temporary maintenance workers! This role is ideal for those seeking extra income or testing out a new position before committing long-term. It offers a friendly environment focused on safety and community service. The starting pay is $19.502 per hour, with potential promotion to $20.998 per hour for those with a CDL, at the discretion of the District. Positions are temporary until November 30, 2025, with hours depending on weather conditions.

Job Duties:

1. Operate heavy equipment for road maintenance.
2. Perform tree trimming.
3. Respond to highway emergencies.
4. Move, drag, lift, load, and unload equipment, materials, and hazardous objects safely within weight restrictions.
5. Spread and tamp surfacing materials.
6. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license.
2. For senior roles: must have a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with air brakes and tanker endorsements within 60 days.
3. Preferred: Valid Class A or B CDL and heavy equipment experience.
4. Travel may be required, including overnight stays. Reliable attendance and availability for emergency reporting outside scheduled hours are essential.

Physical and Other Requirements:

Ability to move, drag, lift 35 pounds frequently, up to 60 pounds occasionally, and 90+ pounds with assistance. Must be able to work outdoors in temperature extremes and around high-speed traffic.
