The Nebraska Department of Transportation is hiring summer temporary maintenance workers. This is a great opportunity for temporary work or to explore a new career path before considering long-term employment. Starting pay rate: $19.50 per hour. Those with a CDL may be promoted to a higher rate of $20.998 per hour. Positions are available in Aurora, Hastings, Kearney, Grand Island, Ravenna, Loup City, Ord, St. Paul, Fullerton, Central City, Greeley, York, Hebron, and Osceola. Duration: until November 30, 2025. Hours may vary depending on weather conditions.
Ability to lift and move weights up to 90 pounds with or without assistance, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and respond to emergency calls outside scheduled hours within 45 minutes.
