Job summary

San Francisco Wine Trading Company, a division of JJ Buckley Fine Wines, is seeking energetic individuals to join our retail and in‑house Wine Consultant team at our West Portal shop. This is a temporary, part-time role averaging 20 hours per week with a Thursday-Saturday schedule based on business needs.

Strong candidates will have a well‑rounded knowledge of fine wines, ability to build relationships with customers, and excellent tasting notes, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of recent wine industry experience (retail/wholesale/restaurant)
• 2+ years of retail experience
• Strong knowledge of fine wine markets (regions & current pricing)
• Ability to write tasting notes and discuss wine products in depth
• Proficiency with MS Office and ability to learn new software

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level service in-store and online to a demanding customer base
• Present wines and build relationships with customers
• Write tasting notes and discuss wine regions and varietals in depth
• Maintain store cleanliness and organize time efficiently
• Collaborate with team and contribute to ongoing education
