Job summary

BGE, Inc. is seeking a Field Archaeologist for a temporary, project-based role based in Frisco, TX. You will conduct phase one archaeological surveys, assist with excavation, and document field data using tablets and GPS, with travel within Texas and nearby states.

The position emphasizes careful data collection, report preparation, safety, and teamwork under supervision, with no benefits offered for this temp role and 10-hour field days common during peak activity.

Qualifications

• Degree in anthropology or archaeology or near graduation with fieldschool experience.
• Strong organization, data entry and report documentation skills.
• Able to travel within Texas and to neighboring states.

Responsibilities

• Conduct phase one surveys including pedestrian surveys and shovel testing.
• Assist excavation and trenching activities in Texas and surrounding regions.
• Document field data with tablets, GPS, and maintain photo logs.
• Support report prep, background research, and site documentation.
• Collaborate with leads to ensure accurate data collection and compliance.
