Job summary

BGE, Inc. in San Antonio, TX, seeks a Field Archaeologist for a temporary, project-based assignment in Texas and surrounding regions.

You will conduct phase one surveys, shovel tests, and collect field data using tablets and GPS, with support for report preparation under supervision. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in anthropology or archaeology (or nearing graduation with field school), strong organization, data-entry and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in anthropology or archaeology or near graduation with field school experience.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency in data entry and report documentation.
• Ability to work in team environments and travel locally within North Texas.

Responsibilities

• Conduct phase one archaeological surveys including pedestrian surveys and shovel testing.
• Assist with excavation and trenching activities in Texas and nearby areas.
• Collect and document field data using tablets, GPS devices, and maintain photo logs.
• Support preparation of reports and site documentation for projects.
