Job summary

Useless Bay Golf and Country Club is seeking a Temporary Facilities Maintenance professional to support operations from early October for a 3 to 6 month period. The role focuses on maintaining the club’s physical plant and performing basic electrical, mechanical, and carpentry tasks.

You will handle work orders, assist with safety, and respond to after-hours calls as needed. The position offers an hourly pay range and a broad benefits package in a values-driven team environment.

Qualifications

• Journeymen level experience or equivalent in a trade or 2+ years in building maintenance preferred.
• General understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to perform painting, woodworking, and general carpentry.
• Ability to perform maintenance and general repair.
• Knowledge and safe operation of hand tools and power tools.
• Flexibility to perform multiple tasks in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the building’s physical appearance and assist with mechanical, electrical and plumbing system functionality and upkeep.
• Ensure security, cleanliness, preventive maintenance and repair of tools, equipment and safety features.
• Keep storerooms and work areas clean and organized; store tools and spare parts properly.
• Complete delegated work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Respond to after-hour calls as necessary.
• Address unsafe conditions immediately.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

This Temporary Position is expected to begin in early October to fill in for a Leave of Absence. The Temporary Position is expected to last 3 to 6 months.

What Success Looks Like:

Your Impact

• Maintain the building’s physical appearance and working order of the club as well as assistance of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing system functionality and general upkeep.
• Ensure the security, cleanliness, preventative maintenance and repair of all engineering department tools, equipment and safety features are in accordance with established procedures and budgets.
• Ensure all maintenance and engineering storerooms and work areas are kept in a clean and orderly manner and storing all tools, equipment and spare parts in proper location.
• Responsible for the proper treatment and care of tools and equipment used to perform tasks.
• Responsible to complete delegated work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Respond to after-hour calls as necessary.
• Reports and addresses unsafe conditions immediately.
• Other tasks as assigned.

What You Bring

• Must be able to complete all types of work orders generated for engineering.
• Must have a general understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Journeymen level experience or equivalent in a trade or 2+ years in building maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively perform painting, woodworking, and general carpentry.
• Ability to perform maintenance and general repair.
• Must have knowledge and the ability to operate tools, hand tools and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
• Must be flexible and able to perform multiple tasks and work in stressful situations.
