Job summary

Thorlabs Measurement Systems in Sparta, NJ is seeking a full-time temporary employee to compile and enter engineering-related documentation into the ERP system and assist with related purchasing and planning tasks. The role supports ERP data integrity, change orders, and supplier communications while coordinating with engineering and production teams.

The position may require up to 10% travel to other Thorlabs sites and is based in Sparta, NJ.

Qualifications

Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
Experience in ERP environment preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP software.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Responsibilities

Enter engineering-related documentation into the ERP system and control documents.
Generate and implement change orders in the ERP system.
Communicate errors with engineering and manage change order items.
Notify internal/external parties of change impacts when necessary.
Maintain local engineering documentation directory for data accuracy.
Place purchase orders and expedite deliveries as needed.
Plan, schedule, start and end production orders for assigned items.
Monitor MRP to maintain inventory minimums.
Interact with vendors to communicate expectations and deadlines.
Help resolve purchasing issues for production and R&D items.
Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and support workflows.
Generate reports as directed by Management.
Assist with general administrative tasks as needed.
