Job summary

SkyWest is seeking an Employment Eligibility Specialist to oversee all tasks related to employment eligibility, background checks, I-9 processing, and related work authorizations. You will manage company-wide ID badging and ensure program efficiencies, while auditing ongoing eligibility issues and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with recruitment to screen and hire qualified candidates, maintain clearances, and develop processes to improve the candidate experience in line

Qualifications

  • Must be 18+ years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Pass pre-placement background check and drug screen.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Handle all tasks related to employment eligibility, including timely clearances of all criminal backgrounds, I-9 work authorization, P r Act, and related work authorizations.
  • Manage company-wide ID badging with oversight, including printing, auditing, program efficiencies and issuing new IDs.
  • Monitor ongoing employment eligibility issues and elevate as required.
  • Ongoing compliance auditing and reporting.
  • Collaborate with departments to meet hiring needs by expediting necessary clearances.
  • Partner with recruitment and hiring personnel to screen and hire qualified candidates.

Primary Job Duties
  • Responsible for all tasks related to employment eligibility, including timely clearances of all criminal backgrounds, I-9 work authorization, Pilot Records Improvement Act, and related work authorizations
  • Responsible for company-wide ID badging with overall oversight, including printing, auditing, program efficiencies, reprinting expired IDs and issuing new ones
  • Monitor ongoing employment eligibility issues and elevate as required
  • Ongoing compliance auditing and reporting
  • Working closely with departments to meet hiring needs by expediting necessary clearances
  • Partner with recruitment and hiring personnel to screen and hire the most qualified candidates
  • Successful compliance auditing and reporting in all areas of responsibility
  • Proactive approach to regulatory hiring and clearance changes and requirements
  • Daily processing of internal transfers, via job code changes and posted positions
  • Facilitating hiring and clearance processes for both SkyWest Airlines and SWC
  • Properly update iManage supervisor changes for timely Payroll Change Notices (PCN)
  • Responsible for partnering with internal clients to continuously improve the candidate/new hire experience
  • Developing processes and dashboards to process hires efficiently and in accordance with all FAA, DOT, and other regulations
Minimum Requirements
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Pass a pre-placement background check and drug screen
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Strong, proven history of attention to detail
  • Passion and ability for finding efficiencies and solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on quality, tone, detail, and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Commitment to professionalism
  • Passionate about SkyWest culture
  • Proactive approach to obtaining employment clearances for all new hires
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Partner with and bring value to individual departments (based on their needs and hiring goals)
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Preferred Possess a valid, unrestricted state-issued driver's license
Physical And Other Requirements
  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to St. George, UT (no remote positions available)
  • This is a full-time, hourly position (40 hours per week) with hours worked Monday - Friday sometime between the hours of 8 AM MST - 5 PM MST
  • Must possess valid driver license
  • Sitting for extended periods of time in front of computer.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • This is not a Department of Transportation safety-sensitive position
