Prismhr Hire seeks a temporary Design Consultant for a high-end hardware store and design firm in the United States. You will help clients translate design visions into options, assist with product selections, finalize details, and present pricing with exceptional service.

This 6–8 week assignment targets a polished, energetic designer who can build relationships, create design concepts, and potentially transition to longer-term work based on performance.

• Answer phones, greet customers, and maintain showroom displays.
• Assist with inventory management and showroom upkeep.
• Follow up with customers regarding quotes, orders, selections, and project details.
• Assist with other showroom, design, and administrative duties as needed.
• Occasionally lift and move merchandise weighing 20 lbs. or more.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Temporaryprofessional, energetic, and highly motivated Design Consultant to join our upscale hardware store and design firm. We are needing a temp design professional for about 6 to 8 weeks; this is a position that could turn into long term job for the right candidate, depending on performance and needs within the store. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has a strong eye for design and detail, and is confident providing exceptional customer service while helping clients bring their design visions to life.

The ideal candidate will be polished, personable, self-motivated, sales-oriented, and comfortable working in a high-end retail and design environment. You should enjoy building relationships with customers, asking the right questions, making design recommendations, and creating an outstanding client experience from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Meet with customers to understand their needs, preferences, style, and project goals.
• Assist customers with product selections, hardware choices, finishes, colors, and design concepts.
• Provide professional design guidance and recommendations based on each customer's project.
• Take accurate measurements and assist with project specifications when needed.
• Prepare and present design ideas, product options, and pricing to customers.
• Develop strong customer relationships and provide a high level of personalized service.

• Answer multi-line phones, respond to customer inquiries, and direct calls appropriately.
• Greet customers and provide a welcoming, professional experience in the showroom.
• Assist with inventory management, receiving merchandise, organizing products, and maintaining showroom displays.
• Help keep the showroom clean, organized, attractive, and presentation ready.
• Communicate with vendors, customers, and team members professionally and effectively.
• Follow up with customers regarding quotes, orders, selections, and project details.
• Assist with other showroom, design, and administrative duties as needed.
• Occasionally lift and move merchandise weighing 20 lbs. or more.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company and its brand with a high level of professionalism.

• Previous design or showroom experience is a plus.
• Strong computer skills and the ability to learn design and sales software.
• Proven ability to build customer relationships and close sales.
• A professional appearance and demeanor are required.
