SmileHQ and Elite Orthodontics in Washington, D.C. seeks an experienced Temporary General Dentist to cover a maternity leave period from December 2026 to April 2027. The role involves managing a full patient caseload from day one within a modern, fully equipped office.

You will collaborate with a skilled team, deliver comprehensive care across all age groups, and supervise hygienists and assistants while maintaining HIPAA-compliant records and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
• Active and unrestricted Dental License in the District of Columbia (D.C.).
• Active DEA license and CPR/BLS certification.
• Minimum of 1–2+ years of clinical practice preferred.
• Strong communication, diagnostic, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver proficient general dentistry care to patients of all ages (examinations, restorations, endodontics, extractions, crowns/bridges, prevention).
• Formulate, discuss, and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Direct and supervise dental hygienists and dental assistants.
• Maintain accurate electronic dental records (EDR) in HIPAA-compliant manner.
• Ensure strict adherence to OSHA & HIPAA.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and patient-focused Temporary General Dentist to join our established practice in Washington, D.C., while our primary provider is on maternity leave.

This full-time temporary position runs from December 2026 through April 2027 (Mon, Wed & Fri). You will be joining a supportive, highly skilled team and taking over a well-maintained, full patient caseload from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver proficient care and comprehensive general dentistry care to patients of all ages (examinations, restorations, endodontics, extractions, crowns/bridges, and preventative care).
• Formulate, discuss, and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Direct and supervise dental hygienists and dental assistants.
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic dental records (EDR) in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Ensure strict adherence to OSHA & HIPAA.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school.
• Licensure: Active and unrestricted Dental License in the District of Columbia (D.C.).
• Certifications: Active DEA license and CPR/BLS certification.
• Experience: Minimum of [1–2+] years of clinical practice preferred.
• Strong communication, diagnostic, and interpersonal skills with a commitment to excellent patient care.
