Job description

The Delivery Driver Helper assists Sherwin-Williams Delivery Service (SWDS) drivers in making deliveries to customers and stores within a metropolitan area. Responsibilities include riding with the driver, helping unload products, maintaining safety awareness, and other duties as assigned. The typical work hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with schedule variations based on business needs.

This is a temporary 90-day position.

The role involves customer contact, which may include minors, and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and other valuables. Therefore, a criminal history review is conducted to ensure safety and protect company operations and reputation.

Job duties include:

1. Assist driver with loading and unloading materials, following safety procedures and traffic laws, and documenting deliveries with signatures and photos via handheld device.
2. Contact customers or stores before delivery and pick-up.
3. Work a varied schedule based on delivery needs.
4. Spend hours riding in a vehicle passenger seat; driving is not required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Legally authorized to work without sponsorship.
• Able to retrieve and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
• At least one year of experience with material handling equipment.
• At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service roles.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
