Job description

Delivery Driver Helper

The Delivery Driver Helper assists Sherwin-Williams Delivery Service (SWDS) drivers in making deliveries to customers and stores within a metropolitan area. Responsibilities include riding with the driver, helping unload products, maintaining safety and security, and performing other duties as assigned. Work hours are typically from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., but may vary based on business needs.

This is a temporary position for 90 days.

The role involves contact with customers, including minors, and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, and valuable items. A criminal history review is required to ensure safety and protect company operations and reputation.

Job Duties
  1. Assist the driver in loading and unloading materials, following safety procedures and traffic regulations, and documenting deliveries with signatures and photos via handheld device.
  2. Contact customers or stores prior to delivery and pick-up.
  3. Work a flexible schedule based on delivery needs.
  4. Spend many hours riding in the passenger seat; driving is not required.
Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Legally authorized to work without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to retrieve materials from shelves and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 70 lbs. occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
  • At least one year of experience with material handling equipment or in delivery, retail, or customer service roles.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
