Delivery Driver Helper

The Delivery Driver Helper assists Sherwin-Williams Delivery Service (SWDS) drivers in making deliveries to customers and stores within a metropolitan area. Responsibilities include riding with the driver, helping unload products, maintaining safety and security, and performing other duties as assigned. The typical work hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., but may vary based on business needs.

This is a temporary 90-day position.

Because the role involves customer contact, access to cash and valuables, and handling electronic equipment, a criminal history review is conducted to ensure safety and protect company operations.

Job Duties:

1. Assist the driver with loading and unloading materials, following safety procedures and traffic laws, and documenting deliveries with signatures and photos via handheld devices.
2. Contact customers and stores prior to delivery and pickup.
3. Work a varied schedule based on customer orders.
4. Spend many hours riding in the passenger seat of a truck or van; driving is not required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Legally authorized to work in the country without sponsorship.
• Ability to retrieve, lift, and carry materials up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
• At least one year of experience with material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
• At least one year of experience in delivery, retail, or customer service roles.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in more than one language, including Spanish.
