Job summary

Bay State Community Services is seeking a dedicated Counselor to join our Community Justice Support Team in Quincy, MA. You will provide empathetic, evidence-based counseling to justice-involved individuals in recovery from substance use disorder through individual and group sessions.

The role requires presenting psychoeducational content, facilitating recovery discussions, completing assessments and treatment plans, and accurate documentation. Driving is required and compensation is $26.45/hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology, education, counseling, psychology, social work or related field required.
• Minimum of 2 years supervised counseling experience.
• CADAC, SAS, LADC or Substance Abuse licensure preferred.
• Active pursuit of CADAC/licensure if no degree yet.

Responsibilities

• Present psychoeducational curriculum to clients as scheduled; topics include Substance Abuse, Criminal Thinking, Anger Management.
• Facilitate discussion groups regarding different pathways to recovery.
• Provide individual counseling as needed.
• Complete assessments, intakes, treatment plans, periodic reviews and aftercare plans in timely fashion.
• Provide accurate documentation of services, including case management and group participation.
• Treat all clients with dignity and respect.
• Driving is required.

• Facilitate discussion groups regarding different pathways to recovery
• Provide individual counseling as needed
• Complete assessments, intakes, client schedules, treatment plans, periodic reviews and aftercare plans in timely fashion
• Provide accurate and timely documentation of services delivered, including case management and group participation, as instructed by your supervisor
• Treat all clients with dignity and respect
• Driving is required

This role is not eligible for standard Bay State Community Services health and wellness benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or any human services related concentration required
• Minimum of 2 years supervised counseling required
• CADAC, SAS, LADC, or Substance Abuse counseling licensure preferred
• CADAC, SAS or Substance Abuse treatment experience is a minimum requirement
• Clinicians who do not have a college degree and/or a CADAC are expected to actively pursuing this level of professional development
