Job summary

NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Registered Nurse (S) to provide professional nursing care in correctional healthcare settings. Qualifications

• RN license in good standing.
• Minimum education/experience as listed in the vacancy.
• Background check and drug screen may be required.
• KSAs are not required; preferred experiences are listed in the vacancy.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments and clinical screenings to identify patient needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor responses and contraindications.
• Assist with examinations, procedures, and follow-up care per physician orders.
• Respond to medical emergencies using established nursing protocols and judgment.
• Coordinate nursing care through delegation to LPNs, CNAs, or similar staff.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation of assessments, plans, medications, and changes.
• Coordinate or oversee licensed practical nurses and assistants as assigned.
