Job summary

Gettysburg College Dining Services is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Temporary Cook to join our culinary team. You will prepare hot and cold menu items for students, faculty, staff, and guests, following recipes and daily production guidelines.

The role supports campus catering events and dining operations across campus. Responsibilities include preparing items, cooking to order, portioning, and maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of food service experience highly desired.
• Food safety certification such as ServSafe Manager preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold menu items according to recipes and production sheets.
• Cook items to order in areas such as Sauté, Pizza, and Specialty stations.
• Prepare and bake pizzas and toppings using proper techniques.
• Assist with catering events and campus functions.
• Maintain accurate food production and usage records.
• Ensure all food is labeled, stored and handled safely.
• Keep a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen workspace.
