The University of North Carolina in Charlotte, NC is seeking candidates to join a temporary clerical pool for as-needed positions. Duties include receptionist tasks, data entry, and records processing to support departmental needs.
Requirements include a high school diploma and 1–3 years of administrative/clerical experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data entry. Employment offers vary by department and hours may reach up to 40 per week.
* This pool is used for the as-needed purpose of hiring an employee for either part-time or full-time temporary employment. Whenever a department has a need for temporary clerical support, this pool will be reviewed to obtain potential candidates. Applicants will be contacted directly by the hiring officials to arrange an interview if qualified. * Applicants in this pool will remain active until 12/31/2026. If you have continued interest in temporary employment beyond that time, you will need to reapply for the next available temporary pool. * Temporary staff employees are ineligible to receive benefits (leave, health coverage, State service credit, etc.). They are, however, covered by Worker's Compensation provisions.
However, any non-permanent employee hired to work 30 or more hours per week for three months or more (cumulative of all positions, and not designated as variable hour worker), must be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, within 30 days of their eligibility. Any non-permanent employee hired to work less than 30 hours per week (cumulative of all positions, or designated as variable hour worker - i.e. student workers) are measured during designated measurement periods. If they average 30 or more hours per week over a designated measurement period, they will be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, and will be notified of instructions.
Up to 40 hours per week depending on departmental needs.
Normal hours are between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday but may work early morning / weekend / evening hours as may be necessary depending on departmental needs. (Time of shifts may vary)
Pay Rate $17.00 an hour or higher.
