Job summary

Northwestern University is seeking a temporary Cage Wash Technician for the Chicago campus. This role performs cage wash duties, basic animal care during training, and strictly follows CCM SOPs and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include cleaning cages, sterilizing equipment, maintaining supplies, monitoring washers, and completing logs. The position offers $16.75 per hour with paid time off eligibility.

Qualifications

• Completes cage wash activities following CCM SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Performs limited animal care tasks (no more than 10% of duties) during training.
• Arrives, leaves and takes breaks as scheduled; adheres to attendance policy.
• Maintains accurate records of cage wash and equipment QA testing.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sterilizes cages, equipment and rooms.
• Monitors washers and sterilizers ensuring proper operation.
• Delivers clean/dirty equipment to cage wash as required.
• Restocks inventory and maintains supplies.
• Reports deviations to SOPs or non-routine situations.
