Job summary

City College of San Francisco invites applications for a Dance/PE Instructor (Temporary, Part-Time Pool) to teach ballet at multiple sites. The department seeks a well-versed instructor in ballet with the ability to teach other dance forms; a driver’s license is required.

CCSF aims to foster inclusive teaching and culturally responsive pedagogy for a diverse student body. The position is part-time, in a temporary pool with appointments made as needed for up to one year.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with diverse students in a community college setting.
• Experience teaching Ballet Technique and other dance styles is desirable.
• Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Teach in-person Ballet and other dance styles (Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Yoga) as needed.
• Offer day, evening, and/or Saturday classes at multiple sites.
• Evaluate student performance and progress through in-class observation and assessments.
• Create lesson plans aligned with department course outlines.
• Participate in curriculum development and program events and functions.
• Engage in diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism initiatives.
