Job summary

Palmyra Area School District seeks a short-term substitute Athletic Director to lead the athletic department in the absence of the current director. The role focuses on safety, scheduling, and oversight of equipment, with emphasis on communication among coaches, students, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of professional educator experience.
• Experience as Athletic Director is a plus.
• PA Standard Application, transcripts, clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of the district's athletic programs during the AD's absence.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with coaches, student-athletes, families, and school staff.
• Oversee equipment care, storage, and replacements.
• Address scheduling conflicts and facilities issues.
• Work with athletic office staff to ensure events are staffed and conducted safely.
• Monitor building safety during evening events and ensure doors are secure.
• Collaborate with trainers, coaches, and families to ensure medical and participation requirements are met.
• Promote sportsmanship, equity, and character across all programs.
• Record game results for district rankings where applicable.
• Handle cash boxes and related financial duties for events.
• Work according to the athletic events schedule.
