Job summary

Montgomery College seeks an interpreter to provide interpreting/transliterating services for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across the campus. Strong ASL skills and knowledge of ethics are essential.

The role supports educational accessibility and requires collaboration with staff and students on campus in Rockville, MD. Minimum qualifications include an Associate's degree and interpreting experience; RID/NAD ethics knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Interpreting experience required.
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modes used by Deaf individuals.
• Knowledge of RID/NAD Code of Ethics and Deaf Culture.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting/transliterating in diverse campus contexts for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
• Support educational/accessibility needs across the campus.
• Participate in the skills assessment process and demonstrate accurate interpretation.
